Inspired by Iceland's rock topography, Ksenia Sizaya used a mix of materials and layered application to give this abstract composition its captivating texture. Sculpting a base layer, she added pigment in soft brown hues to give the tactile piece a warm, earthy look. Based on the original mixed-media composition, each handcrafted work is made with a mix of acrylic paint and modeling paste that's scraped, combed and brushed to give the work dimension and texture. A foil-wrapped wood floating frame complements for a gallery-worthy presentation.
